A homeowner plans to paint a room or the outside of the house. They look up local painters, check photos from before and after the job and ask for an estimate. This is what a painter's website needs to help them make that call.
What a painter website needs
- Your phone number at the top, as a tap-to-call link on a phone.
- The work you take on: interior painting, exterior painting or both. Name only the jobs you do.
- Real photos of your own jobs, before and after, not stock photos.
- A simple way to ask for an estimate and say what needs painting.
- The towns you serve, named, so a homeowner in Menifee or Corona knows you come to them.
- Your contractor license number. California's contractor board (CSLB) says the license number belongs in your advertising, and its bulletin names websites.
- A link to your Google reviews, so a stranger can see what your customers say.
Two rules from the contractor board
CSLB reminds licensed contractors to advertise within their classification, and not to advertise that they are bonded. It says breaking the advertising rules can lead to discipline and fines. Read its notice, and check your own site against it.
Three ways to get a painter website
- Build it yourself on a site builder. It is cheap, but you do the work and the upkeep, and it is easy to leave out the license number or the towns.
- Hire a web design agency. You get a custom site. Ask what it costs every month, who owns the domain, and who makes the edits.
- SnappLocal. A free hosted website for your trade, with a contact form, leads inbox and owner login. Chat, Reviews, Phone (with booking) and Site Care are optional paid add-ons; Complete includes Site Care.
What happens when you have a brush in your hand
You cannot always answer the phone with paint on your hands or while you are up a ladder. If the call goes to voicemail, the homeowner may try the next painter. SnappLocal offers AI Phone as an optional paid add-on to answer calls, gather job details and book jobs on your calendar.
Call the demo line and talk to it the way one of your customers would.
