Electrician website design: what your site needs to get the call

Make it quick to see what you fix, where you work and how to reach you.

The demo line is answered by an AI phone agent.

Someone with a dead outlet, a tripping breaker or a panel that is too old does not browse. They search on their phone, look at two or three sites and call one. This is what an electrician's website needs to be the one they call.

What an electrician website needs

  • Your phone number at the top, as a tap-to-call link on a phone.
  • One clear page per kind of job you want: repairs, panel upgrades, lighting, EV charger installs, remodel wiring. A caller wants to see their problem named.
  • Whether you do homes, businesses or both, said plainly.
  • The towns you serve, named, so a caller in Hemet or Perris knows you come to them.
  • Your contractor license number. California's contractor board (CSLB) says the license number belongs in your advertising, and its bulletin names websites.
  • Real photos of your own work and truck, not stock photos.
  • A way to ask for a visit or an estimate without calling, and a link to your Google reviews.

Rules from the contractor board

CSLB says to advertise only within your license classification, and not to advertise that you are bonded. Check your site and any listing against its notice.

Three ways to get an electrician website

  • Build it yourself on a site builder. It is cheap, but you do the work and the upkeep, and it is easy to leave out the license number or the towns.
  • Hire a web design agency. You get a custom site. Ask what it costs every month, who owns the domain, and who makes the edits.
  • SnappLocal. A free hosted website for your trade, with a contact form, leads inbox and owner login. Chat, Reviews, Phone (with booking) and Site Care are optional paid add-ons; Complete includes Site Care.

What happens when you are up a ladder

A site brings people to the phone. If the call goes to voicemail while you are in an attic or on a panel, the caller may try the next name. SnappLocal offers AI Phone as an optional paid add-on to answer calls, gather job details and book jobs on your calendar.

Call the demo line and talk to it the way one of your customers would. It takes two minutes.
